Picking Out A Tree

Siri was SO excited to pick out a tree this year. She picked out her ornament this year yesterday (a white and silver butterfly) and wanted to put it on the tree. Siri (and now Felicity) get a special ornament each year. Sometimes I pick it and it goes in the stocking, but this year I let Siri choose (and I chose Felicity's—a silver star).

I always love the people we buy the tree from. Every year we have gone to a different lot. The men are always so sweet and I feel so 'Christmasy' around them. This year was no exception. One of the men even took pictures of us in the tree lot.

Flissy was cracking us up in her marshmellow-man snow suit. Thank goodness she has a new car seat. Can't imagine her in her baby seat (we just got her the new seat yesterday). Siri has been using the box the carseat came in as a house.

Thanksgiving 2008

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! Thursday we napped, watched the parade, and had Thanksgiving with our friends the Holcombs (and did I mention that we napped; sorry I had to say it again!). It was nice to spend the day as a family. It's been a long time since I have felt like I could just hang out and not work or study on a holiday. It was GREAT!

These pictures were all taken at the Holcombs. I'm so grateful for my two little darlings! Every night I thank my Heavenly Father for them. What do you thing? Does Siri love her little sister or what? Don't worry, shortly after the picture was taken, we got Felicity out of the choke hold.

Tickle Flissy's Musical Tummy

At dinner tonight, Siri and I were sitting across from Josh and Flissy. Josh told Siri that when he tickled Flissy's tummy, her tummy would make music. Josh was sitting in front of the piano and was using his elbow to make the music. Siri thought it was great!

I thought it was pretty seamless too. I couldn't see Josh using his elbow to make the music when he tickled Fliss. Siri wanted to see if she could make Flissy make music too. She ran over and started to tickle Flissy's tummy—and put her elbow out to bonk on the piano just like her daddy! Too smart for us!

Our week | Nov 3-11

Today was the Primary program at church, and I have to admit I was pretty teary eyed. It made me feel like Siri was very grown up—a real, little kid, not my toddler. As always, our child provided the comic relief (you know how there is always that ONE sunbeam—yep, it's ours). Other than the hysterical faces, the head shaking (which she managed to get Kate to help her with), the high pitched vibrato singing, and the look of "why in the world am I still up here?," she did very well in the program.

She had two lovely speaking parts that we had practiced at home. The first thing she needed to say was "go to church." She was the first sunbeam to go up. She first surveyed the crowd, then very clearly said her line.

The second time she went up she was suppose to say, "pray." Lachelle, the primary president, told her what to say, and very clearly into the mic she said, "Is that what I am suppose to say?" Everyone laughed, and then Siri said, "PUT." I guess she had misunderstood Lachelle because PUT isn't exactly PRAY.

A great first Primary program for her adoring parents!

This is Siri's Sunbeam class: Siri, Laneah, Kate, Kyah, and Aubrey. They are a darling little bunch of girls!

Our week | Nov 3-11

This is a picture from when an entire contents of dry spaghetti fell on the floor. What does a reponsible mother do? Let her children play with it, of course. No 5 second rule here.

Hi!

I'm excited that we now have a family blog. I will be contributing from time to time. Love it!

Halloween 2007

Siri {mermaid|fairy} and Felicity {flower fairy} trick-or-treated to about five houses before Siri declared that she was done. We walked over to Nick and Lachelle's house for some 'warm' halloween fun. Dawn helped Siri make a little pumpkin, which Siri promptly named 'octopus.'

And of course, no holiday fun would be complete without a little over-stimulation (the melt down happened BEFORE we even started trick-or-treating).

Our new family blog!

Finally, after avoiding it so long, I am putting together a blog for our family. It's starting make more sense so that all of you that are so far away can see what is going on in Minnesota. So here it is!
